Music Tuition ...

Lauren Greaves Music Tuition offers bespoke music lessons to pupils of all ages both in and out of school. Lauren specialises in drum kit lessons and also offers guitar and flute lessons at beginner to intermediate level. Lauren also runs music clubs in schools including the popular Jam Sessions and Mini Music Makers. As well as offering instrumental lessons, LG Music Tuition provides a wealth of online learning resources such as additional sheet music and audio examples to help with your practice.

The aim of LG Music Tuition is to provide pupils with a skill and a passion. Lauren tailors her lessons to suit the needs, goals and learning styles of the individual pupils, whether that be to take graded exams, play in a band, write original music or simply to have fun.

For children, learning to play an instrument can improve confidence, creativity and interpersonal skills as well as providing potential UCAS points for those wishing to take exams. Adult learners are also welcome and it is NEVER too late to learn!

Visit the Instrument pages for further details about lessons on your instrument.

A little about me ...

I started drumming at the age of thirteen and haven't put the sticks down since! I completed my initial training by achieving a distinction for my grade eight Rock School drumming exam and then went on to achieve a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Popular and World Musics from the University of Leeds and a Master's Degree in Music Management from the University of Sheffield. I have a full DBS check and have trained in SEN and EAL learning.

I started teaching drum lessons on a one-to-one basis during my studies. Since graduating I have continued to teach drum lessons in school and privately and have been involved in various other music and arts education projects. Visit the Other Projects page to see what I'm currently involved with. Although the drum kit is my first instrument, I also play the flute, guitar, bass, ukulele, piano and saxophone and enjoy writing and producing music.

I have been playing in bands for as long as I've been playing the drums and have been lucky enough to play gigs and festivals all over the country. I am currently the drummer for blues infused indie trio FloodHounds, hard hitting rock 'n' roll 5-piece Thunderous Jones and reggae influenced Sheffield outfit Rogue Siesta. I also work as a live and recording session drummer. If you'd like to hear a bit of what we play then visit the Other Projects page!

Testimonials ...

We feel very lucky to have Lauren teaching our son. Lauren’s enthusiasm is reflected in her lovely ability to see him as an individual and designs her lessons around his interests in order for him to fulfil his potential. Even creating pieces of music just for him, Lauren’s recent ‘Luigi’s Mansion’ resulted in Arthur having little interest in anything other than his drums for some time.
